When To Use Hair Color Experts

There are times when you can color your own hair at home with very little to worry about, and there are times when you should leave your new color up to hair color experts. Do you know the difference between the two? There are some simple rules you can follow when deciding which is the one that you need, and even when you can or should switch from one to the other. For the most part, it depends on the color of your current hair, how many times you have colored in the past, and even how much experience you have with home hair coloring.

One of the times that you will always want to see hair color experts is when you have never colored your own hair before. If you are only going one shade away from what you have now, and you have never colored before, you may be able to do it at home. However, going more than one shade away can cause problems of which you have not considered. You have no idea how your hair is going to react to the dye, and hair color experts are going to be vital to making sure you get the color you want without doing extensive damage to your skin or hair.

If you are going from any dark shade to blond, you are going to want to use hair color experts. This is because the act of bleaching is going to damage your hair. Bleaching is the act of removing pigment from your hair rather than adding it. That means the scales of your hair are lifted, the pigment is removed, and then those scales have to lay back down. Those with even slighting damaged hair can make things even worse if they try bleaching on their own. Hair color experts can do this much more safely, and can even tell you when it is a very bad idea to do it. If that is the case, experts in hair care and coloring can recommend some things you can do to prepare your hair for bleaching at a later date.

You may not need to find hair color experts if you have had your hair colored before, and you are not going too far from your current color. However, if you arent sure if your hair is in good shape, you may want to do some damage control first. Always have a trim first, and be sure you baby your hair so the color goes on smoothly, evenly, and with minimal damage. Drying at home can be an inexpensive alternative to the beauty salon, but only if you are sure that you can do it right. You dont want to end up with bald spots or hair so badly damaged that you have no choice but to cut it all off to start all over again.
